The African Union International Centre for Girls' and Women's Education in Africa (AU CIEFFA), in partnership with ImpactHER, has officially opened applications for its Fully-Funded Online Capacity Building Training, an initiative designed to equip young Africans, women and men, entrepreneurs, educators, and aspiring business leaders with the practical skills needed to thrive in today's digital economy.

About this Opportunity

The programme reflects the African Union's commitment to closing the gender gap in ICT, advancing education, innovation, and entrepreneurship, by providing participants across Africa with access to high-quality virtual learning at no cost.

The comprehensive training will focus on four key areas:

  • Digital Skills
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Financial Literacy
  • Gender Equality in Education

Participants will gain practical knowledge, industry-relevant insights, and essential tools to improve their employability, strengthen their businesses, and contribute meaningfully to sustainable economic development across the continent.

Speaking on the initiative, the organisers noted that empowering African women and youth with future-ready skills remains critical to achieving inclusive growth and unlocking Africa's full economic potential.

This programme is more than a training course. It is an investment in Africa's future workforce and entrepreneurs. By equipping participants with practical digital, financial, and entrepreneurial competencies, we are creating pathways to innovation, economic independence, and sustainable development.

The training will be delivered entirely online, enabling participants from all African countries to learn remotely and engage with experts and fellow participants across the continent. 

Please note that the selected participants will be divided into batches. Each batch will be run for a period of 1 month starting from August 31, 2026.

  • Get a Certificate in each program: Digital Skills, Entrepreneurial Skills and Financial Literacy (participants need to attend at least 80% of the training courses per program to be eligible for certificates).
  • Be part of African Union CIEFFA network and ImpactHER network.
  • Increase  chances to be invited for fully-funded in-person activities by the African Union CIEFFA.
  • Access to other fully-funded online training sponsored by ImpactHER

Who Can Apply

  • Be an African woman or man ;
  • Be able to demonstrate the motivation to learn about: digital skills, entrepreneurial skills and financial literacy.
  • Be able to demonstrate leadership abilities, aspirations and a commitment to the promotion of girls and women’s education;
  • Have access to good internet connection and a device (laptop, computer, smartphone or tablet).
  • Have a clear understanding of one of the training’s languages; English, French or Portuguese;
  • Hold an African citizenship residing on the continent or anywhere in the world.
